PERMANENT MAKEUP FAQ

***Please Read***

What is Permanent makeup?

Form of micropigmentation, depositing specially formulated pigment into the skin with a sterile needling tool.

What is Microblading?

Using a manual hand tool, Strokes are made that mimic hair strands. This tool is constructed of an average of about 12 very fine needles, grouped together to form a blade. This technique can dramatically correct, or reconstruct the brow: perfect for those looking to enhance their natural brow. Typically lasts 1-3 years, depending on skin type and skincare routine.

How do I determine if I am a good/bad candidate for Microblading?

Microblading/Shading is not suitable for the following candidates:

  • Using Accutane or used within the past year.

  • Have heart conditions or using heart medications

  • Have diabetes (will require a physician's note)

  • Have skin disease or irritations

  • Have had Botox in the last 2 weeks

  • Have gotten a deep tan or chemical peels in the last 2 weeks

  • Frequently tans in a tanning bed or outdoors

  • Clients with large porous skin/thin skin in brow area

  • Allergic to lidocaine

  • Anyone who has any serious medical conditions may require a physician's note.

  • Pregnant or nursing clients

  • Clients with Keloid or Hypertrophic scars

  • Those sensitive to Nickel & Hair dye can have a pigment patch test done on the skin prior to the procedure

* We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone who we deem not suitable for this procedure or for any other reason. The artist makes the decision to microblade an individual based on their own discretion. *

Are Touch-Ups Necessary?

-The initial procedure requires two sessions 6 weeks apart. The first session consists of consultation, mapping, application.

-The 6 weeks in between sessions will be for the skin to heal.

-In the second session, a light application will be applied to perfect your desired brow results.

The focus of the session is to bring back symmetry, adjust any imperfections, and create a general blend of pigment that lasts.

What factors will affect my Permanent Makeup?

-Constant STEAM! This means HOT showers! Frequent hot showers will cause premature fading as well as premature AGING. Hot showers feel great but need to be taken with caution. Our suggestion is once or twice a month, not every day or every other day especially not more than two times a day. It causes inflammation and cellular breakdown. You will save on all of the expensive skin care, facials, potential plastic surgeries if you can try to refrain from constant hot steam showers.

-An active lifestyle with swimming, constant sweating, and/or saunas will cause premature fading.

-Oily skin type

-Smoking

What can I expect during my appointment?

-We start off with a consultation regarding your desired brow shape and color preference. Your bone structure and lifestyle will play a huge role in determining the best suitable shape. We will map out the desired shape, again, based on natural brows and bone structure. This usually takes about 25-35 min. Once we find the perfect shape, we will pre-numb for about 20-30 minutes. After pre-numbing, the procedure will start and will take 45-60 minutes. A secondary numbing will be applied after the first pass and may be reapplied throughout the procedure, to ensure comfortability. Once complete, you will get to see your amazing brow transformation for the first time, followed by aftercare!

-It will be a scheduled 2-hour appointment

Is It Painful?

A medical-grade, topical numbing is used before and throughout the procedure.

-Only once you have approved and are 100% satisfied with your pre-draw, you will numb for 20-30 minutes before the first pass

-After the first pass, additional numbing will be applied to the open skin, 2-3 more times throughout the procedure, to ensure the area stays numb throughout.

Most clients describe the sensation as "different" rather than painful.

What can I expect after the procedure?

Expect to leave your appointment with your brows looking solid and darker. Ointment (provided) has to be consistently applied for 7 days. No swimming, sauna, HOT steam showers, excessive sweating, anything where you're immersed in water. Yes! You will have dark and shiny brows! And it will be completely worth it! After a week it will fade 50% in color and 25% in thickness.
